The 1980’s marked a turning point in the pace and scope of industialisation worldwide. The decade saw the first large-scale application of electronic technology to a mind-boggling range of industrial products and consumer durables. This came about because componentry was now small and cost-effective. It was in 1980, the beginning of this heady time in the electronic industry, that Watts was founded. Ever since, the company has been specializing on a full range of Metal Film, Carbon Film, Metal Oxide, Wirewound and Chip Resistors.
Watts has perpetuated the sense of excitement and the ‘lets take on the World’ atmosphere in which it was born, with its never-ending quest for excellence and growth.
THE Watts Range
Watts was originally equipped to manufacture 1/4W Carbon Film Resistors with a fully automatic production line with a capacity of 48 million pieces a year. Today, the company has four production lines at its plant at Cochin with a total production capacity of 1000 million resistors per year.
Watts products have been tested and approved for sensitive application in areas like Defence and Telecommunication. Most of the major Indian manufacturers of repute, including those who have technical collaboration with multinationals, use Watts resistors in their test/measuring instruments, telecommunication systems and consumer electronic equipment.
